If you’re a single parent in Arkansas (or Bowie County, Texas) going back to school in 2024, Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund can help you!

With financial support up to $1,600 a semester plus other services, we’re here to help you earn a trade school certificate, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree that will jumpstart you into a professional career offering financial stability for you and your kids.

ASPSF will accept scholarship applications three times in 2024. During these periods, the application portal will go live on our website at aspsf.org/applynow.

Here are the dates:

  • Summer 2024 Semester: Apply between Jan. 15 – March 15
  • Fall 2024 Semester: Apply between April 15 – June 15
  • Spring 2025 Semester: Apply between Aug. 15 – Oct. 15

If you’re pursuing a program that doesn’t follow the traditional Spring-Summer-Fall semester schedule, then apply for the closest semester to your start date.

Don’t forget: Single parent students must reapply each semester. That means if you’re a full-time student for Spring, Summer, and Fall, you could receive up to $4,800 over the calendar year!

Now, what about the application process? Here’s what it entails — don’t worry, you don’t have to write any essays:

  • A short eligibility quiz (Check out our eligibility requirements at aspsf.org/elgibility)
  • The application itself, which must include copies of your
    • Divorce decree, spouse’s death certificate, or signed legal separation document (if you are single, haven’t married, and don’t live with a significant other you can still apply)
    • Most recent Federal Tax Return
    • FAFSA Student Aid Report or an aid report from your current school
    • The semester’s class schedule, which can be turned in after the scholarship deadline through the scholarship portal.
    • School transcripts (New applicants must submit an official transcript, continuing applicants can submit an unofficial transcript)
  • Quick interview with a friendly scholarship committee.
